The four Clean Room Levels are “Class 100, Class 1000, Class 10000, Class 100000” which relate to ISO5, ISO6, ISO7 and ISO8 levels. Production facilities and biomedical laboratories need the maximum particle count standards, and filtration systems outlined by these categories for maintaining clear air environments.

In Cleanrooms the “Class 100, Class 1000, Class 10000, Class 100000” describes the grading system which measures air purity and Clean Room quality standards. Different air quality criteria and filtration systems correspond to each level within this standard.

Cleanrooms

  • Class 100: Also known as ISO Class 5 or Class 100, this is the highest level of purification required. It indicates that the maximum number of particles in the air must not exceed 100 per cubic foot, and is filtered using a high-efficiency filter.

  • Class 1000: Also known as ISO Class 6 or Class 1000, this is a slightly lower requirement than Class 100. It indicates that the maximum number of particles in the air must not exceed 1000 per cubic foot and is filtered using a more lenient filter.

  • Class 10000: Also known as ISO Class 7 or Class 10000, the requirements are slightly lower than Class 1000. It indicates that the maximum number of particles in the air cannot exceed 10000 per cubic foot.

  • Class 100000: Also known as ISO Class 8 or Class 100000, has the lowest requirements. It indicates that the maximum number of particles in the air must not exceed 100000 per cubic foot.

These classes are used in different applications such as biological laboratories, pharmaceutical plants, medical device manufacturing plants, electronics manufacturing plants, and other environments that require a high level of purity. Ensuring that the air quality is at a certain level helps to prevent contamination of products or experiments by fine dust and ensures the quality of production or experiments.
