Fan Filter Unit, a high-efficiency air filtration devices used in Cleanrooms and controlled environments to provide clean air and maintain specific air cleanliness levels. FFUs typically consist of a fan and a high-efficiency filter, such as a HEPA or ULPA filter, and are mounted in the ceiling of a cleanroom or in a ventilation system. Airborne particles, dust, bacteria and other contaminants are removed by forced air circulation and filtration.
Fan: Ensures the provision of airflow power that makes air to pass through the filter and to be distributed into clean room.
Filter: Evaluating always concerns a HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) or ULPA (Ultra High Efficiency Particulate Air) filter, with capturing ninety nine point nine seven per cent to ninety nine point nine nine nine per cent of these fine particles.
Housing: Usually fabricated using stainless steel or galvanized steel, is easy to clean and very durable.
Control System: There is another convenient feature called the speed control to set the required airflow and speed of the device.
FFUs are designed to function in a continuous loop in which dirty air is drawn into the system, passes through the pre-filter then the main HEPA/ULPA filter. Filtered air is supplied to the cleanroom, and dirty air is removed either to the outside or back to the supply after further purification. This process maintains a positive pressure differential which avoid mixture of unfiltered air.
High-efficiency filtration: Satisfies the ISO cleanroom class demands and offers clean air.
Modular design: They are easy to install, maintain, an importantly to replace the filters as often as needed.
Low noise operation: Appropriate for locations where noise has to be efficiently minimized for example laboratories and hospitals.
Energy saving and environmental protection: Replacing conferencing systems with lower energy consumption systems as a means of lowering costs of doing business.
Wide range of applications: Ideal for uses in pharmaceuticals and electronics manufacturing, biotechnology and food production as well as the manufacturing of medical equipment.
