The Laminar Air Flow Portable Hepa Fan Filter Unit (FFU) represents an effective compact design for cleanroom environment sustainability. A Fan Hepa Filter Unit with high performance functions to clean air by eliminating 99.97% of particles measuring 0.3 microns or smaller from the ambient air. The portable structure enables the device to adapt easily in laboratories together with medical facilities and industrial Cleanrooms.
1.High-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) or ultra-low particulate air (ULPA) filters to trap contaminants.
2.Fans and motors engineered for smooth, quiet operation and energy savings.
3.Durable, long-lasting components that minimize maintenance needs.
4.Flexible configurations to optimize air change rates, flow patterns, pressure differentials, and more.
Air Handling Unit(AHU) and Fan and Filter Unit(FFU) have their own specific application scenarios, AHU cannot replace FFU, especially in cleanrooms and other high cleanliness requirements. If you need to meet the air conditioning and cleanliness requirements at the same time, usually the AHU and FFU will be used in combination. The AHU is responsible for the overall air treatment, and the FFU is responsible for the local air purification of high-cleanliness areas. The specific differences are shown in:
AHU: It is mainly used for centralized air treatment, including filtration, heating, cooling, humidification, dehumidification and other functions. It usually serves the whole HVAC system and provides air conditioning for large spaces.
FFU: Focuses on localized air purification, providing laminar flow of air through built-in fans and high-efficiency filters (e.g., HEPA or ULPA), and is suitable for areas with extremely high cleanliness requirements, such as cleanrooms.
AHU: Although filters can be configured, their filtration efficiency and airflow control usually do not meet the high standards of particulate control (e.g., ISO Class 5 or better) in cleanrooms.
FFU: Specifically designed for use in cleanrooms, FFUs are capable of providing stable unidirectional flow and high efficiency filtration to ensure that localized areas achieve extremely high levels of cleanliness.
AHU: usually installed in the machine room or equipment room, through the duct system to multiple areas of the air supply, installation is complex and occupies a large space.
FFU: modular design, can be installed directly on the ceiling of the clean room, flexible installation, suitable for local clean demand.
4. Applicable Scenarios
AHU: Suitable for office buildings, shopping malls, hospitals and other places that require overall air conditioning.
FFU: Suitable for semiconductor factories, biological laboratories, pharmaceutical workshops, and other places with extremely high cleanliness requirements.
