Air Handling Units condition and distribute air within a building. They take fresh ambient air from outside, clean it, heat it or cool it, maybe humidify it and then force it through some ductwork around to the designed areas within a building.

Working principle

Both supply fan and exhaust fan are built inside to bring in fresh air and exhaust out the stale indoor air as well, thus to keep indoor space in natural comfort.


Built-in heat exchanger (rotary heat exchanger or plate heat exchanger) transfers energy contained in the outgoing indoor air to the coming fresh air, thus fresh air is precooled or preheated.


Various functional sections of the Custom Air Handlers, such as filter section, cooling/heating section, humidifying section etc. can be combined together to meet different air treatment requirements.

What are the problems that can occur with the Indoor Air Handler Unit in everyday use?

1. Inadequate air flow due to clogged filters, loose fan belts, and duct leakage.


2. Coil failure, sensor damage, improper control settings will not allow temperature control.


3. Excessive noise caused by worn fan bearings, dusty blades, and vibration of air ducts.


4. Accelerated clogging of the filter caused by high environmental dust, mismatch of filters, and improper installation.


5. Increase in energy consumption caused by low efficiency of fan, leakage of system and unoptimized control.


6. Water pan clogging, broken drain pipe, broken insulation will condensate leakage.


7. Moldy filters/coils, bacterial growth in the drainage system, etc. produce odor problems.


8. Control system malfunction.


9. Excessive load, cooling fan failure, voltage instability can cause fan motor overheating, etc.
